Our full day sightseeing tour travels to the Takhini River area, just outside Whitehorse. Our first stop is at the Kennel, where you’ll assist in harnessing and hooking up your own team of Alaskan huskies before being whisked away in the sled basket on a wonderful trip on the trails along the Takhini River with your own private musher at the helm of your team.
An ideal tour for those who just want a taste of dog sledding without embarking on an expedition, participants who are interested, will then have the opportunity to drive their own team in comfort. After you’ve had a warm northern-style lunch and said good bye to the wonderful huskies, we’ll depart to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve where you’ll have the opportunity to view and photograph wildlife in its natural habitat. Dalls sheep, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, mule deer, wapiti (elk), woodland caribou, wood bison, musk-ox, moose and even lynx can all seen on this tour, usually up close! To cap of a great day, we’ll travel to the nearby Takhini Hotsprings. The outdoor hot springs pool provides a warm sanctuary amid the cold winter weather and is a must-do activity while visiting Whitehorse! Returning to your Whitehorse hotel, you’ll have time to relax and have some dinner.
