Carcross Excursion and Whitehorse Explorer

Day 1:  Meet your guide at your conference stay hotel in the morning and enjoy a variety of beautiful and surprising terrain as you travel together to the crossroads of Gold & Silver Rush history and First Nations culture. Along the way, you'll have a chance to admire the mystifying waters of Emerald Lake (remember your camera) while learning about the geology and natural phenomena of its crystal green colour. Next, be careful not to get sand in your shoes as you explore this unique ecosystem! The Carcross Desert is home to the unique Baikal sedge. Situated along the shores of Bennett Lake and surrounded by stunning mountain vistas, the historic town of Carcross welcomes you with a magnificent sculpture by a local artist. Let your imagination be captivated as we spend some time hearing about the rich arts, culture and history of the area. For a personal touch, a special Yukon Voice may also be in attendance to interact and discuss some of the first hand history and culture of the region.  Total tour time approximately 4-5 hours.  Lunch is provided. 


Day 2:  Get set for a trip around Yukon's Capital like no other! Your Wilderness City afternoon experience starts when your guide picks you up from your conference stay hotel. See what makes the Yukon a hotbed of northern artistic talent with a visit to Yukon Artists at Work. From sculpture to stained glass, watercolours to photography, browse unique creations that define the northern experience. Don't forget to bring your camera as we explore scenic points off the beaten path along the Yukon River including the beautifully rugged Miles Canyon and the iconic SS Klondike. We'll reveal some surprising and quirky stories with a stop at the famous horse sculpture at the city's south end. Be sure to bring your game face as we engage in a little friendly competition!. Next, enjoy artful creations of a different sort with an appetizer tasting and drink pairing. Situated along the banks of the Yukon River, you'll step back in time to experience Whitehorse's 1930's riverboat heritage at the Wheelhouse Restaurant. An authentic Yukon Voice may also attend part of the day to reminisce with and share stories of first hand experiences. Total tour time approximately 3 1/2 to 4 hours. As featured on the National Geographic Channel, The Yukon Wildlife Preserve not only showcases Yukon's animal species in their natural environment setting, but it's also the home of the hit TV show Dr. Oakley - Yukon Vet. Have your camera ready for guaranteed photo opportunities. Remember to bring your swim suit, towel and flip flops as we wrap up your day excursion with a dip in the famous natural mineral waters of the Takhini Hot Springs. Relax and unwind. Keep warm in our Mongolian Yurt where snacks and hot beverages are also provided.  People come from far and wide to view the breathtaking Aurora Borealis - so come and witness this spectacular occurrence during your visit to the Yukon.  This will surely be a once in a lifetime experience.  Return transfer to your hotel arriving at approximately 2.30am.

Day 1:  Pick up from Whitehorse, any necessary shopping, transfer to ranch, orientation & settle in to your cozy private cabin.  Evening saddle ride with unforgettable mountain and lake views - don't forget your camera! Curl up next to the campfire back at the ranch for rest and relaxation.  Home cooked lunch and dinner provided. 
Day 2:  Hiking with huskies after a hearty breakfast.  Take in the pristine lansdscapes as you hike the ridge overlooking Bonneville Lakes and the Fish Lake Valley.  Stop for a peaceful lunch before heading back to the ranch where you may relax, enjoy visiting the huskies and horses and take in the incredible scenery.  Dinner is served and campfire stories have been know to take place. If your lucky you may even see the Northern Lights!   
Day 3:  After a restful night sleep in your own wilderness cabin you will enjoy a home cooked breakfast in the peaceful Yukon surroundings.  Take time for a walk and explore. Learn the rich history of the ranch from your hosts and guides. Lunch will also be provided before saying good-bye and transfer back to Whitehorse.
